About Perler 58×58 patterns

Perler is the most common fuse bead brand in the US. Patterns use Perler color codes such as P18 Black and the matching item numbers printed on the bags, so you can shop straight from the color list.

58×58 works well for portraits of pets, flowers, logos and wall decorations. The PDF splits the design into one page per 29×29 pegboard with row and column numbers, so you can build it board by board.

Tip: Use the "only colors I own" option if you already have a Perler bucket — the pattern will only use what is on your shelf.

How to make a bead pattern from a photo

  1. Upload a picture. Choose a photo or drawing (JPG, PNG, WebP). It stays on your device — nothing is uploaded.
  2. Pick your beads and board. Select Perler, Hama Midi or Artkal S, the pegboard size (29×29 pegs is standard) and how many boards wide and tall the pattern should be.
  3. Adjust colors. Limit the number of colors, use only the colors you own, enable dithering for smooth gradients and tweak brightness, contrast and saturation.
  4. Export and build. Download the PNG, the printable PDF with one page per pegboard, and the bead count list (CSV) to use as a shopping list.

Frequently asked questions

How many beads do I need for a 58×58 Perler pattern?

A full 58×58 pattern uses up to 3,364 beads. The exact number per color is shown in the color list after you generate the pattern, and you can download it as a CSV shopping list. Buy roughly 10% extra to cover lost beads.

How big is a 58×58 bead pattern in real life?

With 5 mm beads it is about 29 × 29 cm (11.4 × 11.4 in). Beads shrink slightly when ironed, so the final piece may be a little smaller.

Which Perler color codes does the maker use?

It matches your photo to Perler colors using CIEDE2000 color difference and shows codes such as P01 White (item 80-19001). The RGB values come from the community-maintained beadcolors dataset; real beads can look slightly different from your screen.

How do I join four pegboards?

Lay the boards in a 2×2 square (many boards interlock at the edges) and follow the PDF page for each board. Iron the whole piece at once, or each board separately and fuse the seams with a second pass.
